The Web are perhaps best known for their progressive rock classic I Spider (available on Esoteric Recordings), an album of innovation that continues to draw comparisons with the work of Van Der Graaf Generator at that time. The Web began life as a jazz and soul influenced outfit, fronted by singer John L. Watson, enjoying Top Ten hit singles throughout Europe.
By the time of Theraphosa Blondi the band underwent a metamorphosis, with their music taking on more Jazz and Progressive influences, resulting in an excellent album that is rightly seen as a precursor to both the album I Spider and the band'sevolution into the group Samurai. |

Perhaps better known for their later albums "Theraphosa Blondi" and the classic "I Spider" (both available on Esoteric Recordings), "Fully Interlocking" was the debut album by the band, prior to their transformation into a fully fledged progressive outfit.
First released in 1968, the record has been described as having "a tint of 60's psychedelia with jazz-influences and a few early progressive tendencies". Fronted by American vocalist John L. Watson, the album receives its first CD release on Esoteric. |

Released 23rd February 2009. Originally released in 1977 by Decca Records, Faerie Symphony was the third album by Tom Newman, founder member of psychedelic group July and noted engineer and producer on many albums for Mike Oldfield, including the multi-million selling Tubular Bells.
Newman's solo work began with two albums for Virgin Records before he signed to Decca Records for this third, classic album. His musical work on Faerie Symphony draws upon influences from much of his work with Oldfield and also features Jade Warrior (and Tubular Bells contributor) member Jon Field. |
